I watched Pinocchio this morning. The Little Mermaid is next. And I thought about how much the VHS was a part of my childhood. It was amazing, you put this box into another box and there you go, an hour and a half of entertainment. Somehow, in my mind, the VHS is a lot more personal than the DVD. DVDs are sleek, shiny, modern. VHSs, they're simplistic, like children.
It's weird to think that my children, nieces, and nephews probably won't watch VHSs. They might not even know what they are! I wonder if they will still sell VCRs, because I would make my children watch the Disney classics on VHS.
I LOVE them too. It breaks my heart to see them lying in boxes in my garage.
